Rotary shaft seals, also known as oil seals, compression glands, simmer rings etc.
Rotary shaft seal type OAS in NBR-70 (black) is a standard rotary shaft seal that consists of a rubber-coated metal housing and a sealing lip with a spring. The OAS type has an additional protective dust lip which protects the main sealing lip from external contamination.
The spring is made of regular unalloyed spring steel.
The Rotary shaft seal is designed to seal against grease, oil and water in rotary applications. A standard oil seal ring is designed to run at a maximum pressure of 0.5 bar.
PROFILE
PRODUCT ADVANTAGES
• Easy installation and removal
• Can be used both for static and rotating applications
• Good resistance to many mineral oils and greases
• Good heat resistance
• Good in dusty environments
• Wide range of dimensions
• Economical sealing solutions
APPLICATION
Used in almost every industry as a good reliable sealing in rotating machines, shafts, axles, power tools and gearboxes. The OAS type is often used in more dust polluted environments.
INSTALLATION
Installation according to DIN 3760. It is very important that the assembly tools must be of soft material and have no sharp edges. Before installation all individual parts of the seal must be oiled with system oil.
NOTES
The additional sealing lip can cause increased temperature because of friction.
For special applications that require high temperatures or pressure, other materials and models can be used. Please see our other rotary shaft seals.
